How to fix sound problems in Ubuntu 8.04

Just installed Ubuntu 8.04 I found there was something wrong with playing sound simultaneously because this version is supposed to be in control all the sounds PulseAudio.

Another problem I had was that I could not hear audio from Firefox + an audio application.
For example, when reproducing music with Totem and saw a video with Firefox, the sound of me not reproduced Firefox.

  • To solve this we must first note that the audio control is performed with Alsa. We are going to System> Preferences> Sound> PulseAudio Sound Server Dispositivos.Selecciona on the tabs of "Sound Events" "Music and movies" and "Conference of sound." Instead
select HDA VIA VT82xx (Alsa mixer) in "Default Mixer Tracks" I think the old name so in my case, but usually have to select the Alsa mixer put, usually the top of the list. Since this mixer that we will have more options other than that is adequate.
Then go to the tab "Sounds" and select the two rows if you have not activated.

If you want the PulseAudio configuration panel you should do (optional):
    sudo apt-get install padevchooser

  • After solving Firefox what we must do the following:

    sudo apt-get install libflashsupport

is simply a library that Firefox can be controlled by PulseAudio
With that and solve my problems. I hope someone find it useful.
