QUILT BLOCK AND MOUNTING

Well if ... seems impossible, but here is the last block of SAL. I love how it has been the set of all blocks, is harmonious, that was what I wanted.
As I told you, I'm going to expand with four blocks. They'll block the sending to all who signed up at the time. Also I will put on the blog for you to see as are the colors of the pieces.

And now ... we will make the TOP of the quilt.
The Top is the top of the Quilt. To this end, the first thing we do is buy a fabric to connect the blocks. We can choose the same fabric as the background we have used (in my case white) or put a contrasting fabric, ie different color, but always harmonize with the whole.
Before you begin, you must "reconcile" all blocks, ie everyone has the same measure, ensuring that the design is always in the center of the square.
Remember if you want the finished blocks measuring 30 x 30, you should leave some seam allowance.
There are different ways of joining the blocks. If you look at the diagram, you'll notice a rectangular strip between the blocks (in total 40 strips), and there are some squares in the corners. We can join
blocks in two different ways, you choose: 1-With
strips and squares. Using two different fabric colors but harmonics.
2 - Only with strips. All the same color, which may or may not unlike the background you've used in the blocks.
If you wish to remain as the original, you must choose two coordinating fabrics, one for the squares and one for the strips. You can watch it in the photo. Let's assume that your blocks will measure 30 x 30 once sewn, so the block must measure 32 x 32 so you have an inch of room for sewing.
In the first case, ie, join with squares and strips, cut 40 strips must 32x 7 cm (already includes the seam allowance), and 25 squares of 7x7 cm.
sew well:
1 st Row:-small picture small picture-strip-strip-small picture, small picture-strip-strip-cuadrito
2 ยช Row: strip-block 1-strip-block 2-Strip-Block 3-strip-block 4-strip
3 rd Row: small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-cuadrito
4 th Row: strip-block 5 - strip-block 6 - strip-block 7-strip-block 8 - strip
5 th Row: small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-cuadrito
6 th Row: strip-block 9-strip- Block 10-strip-block 11 - strip-block 12 - strip
7 th Row: small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-small picture-strip-cuadrito
8 th Row: strip-block 13 - strip-block 14-strip -Block 15 - strip-block 16 - strip

then iron it seams to one side, and then you joining the ranks each, matching well the seams of all blocks, strips and squares.
this top, you just need to sew a strip around another fabric you like. The original fabric has a large flower. This strip is 20 cm. wide in the original, but you put it at your convenience. Here's another example where they used two colors for squares and strips.

In Case 2, that is, if you want to put the squares, you cut 20 strips of 32 x 7 cm.
and 5 strips of 147 x 7 cm. Typically
strip of 147 cm. have to be added.
You will sew this:
1 st Row: strip-block 1-strip-block 2-strip-block 3-strip-block 4-strip
2 nd Row: strip-block 5-strip-block 6-strip-block 7-strip- Block 8 - strip
3 rd Row: strip-block 9-strip-block 10-strip-block 11-strip-block 12 - strip
4 th Row: strip-block 13-strip-block 14-strip-block 15-strip-block 16-strip

plates But seams to one side, and now sandwiched between these rows of long strips that you cut.
Then I sew the trim around the top to finish.
Here you see a quilt where the strip joints are the same color as that used for the background of the blocks, as well as final strip, have the same white fabric that pulls that have been applied as leaves and branches flowers ... beautiful ...:

can also choose to sew the blocks between them, without straps or additional squares. Tu decide. Here's an example:
In the next post, I will speak on preparing for the top for quilting.
And as always ... send me your questions if I can help. Happy
quilt!
