BLOCKS FOR QUILTING QUILT PREPARATION OF LAST

If you've finished sewing the top, it's time to prepare for quilting, either by hand or machine. Need
a fabric for the jacket or the back , must be of the same kind or quality that you used for the top, ie cotton, soft, and batting to put between the two layers : top and backing. also need a masking tape or painter. Wash and iron well
Fabric lining and rear.
need a table large enough, failing that, a room cleared of furniture and use the floor.

What I was saying, first extends the rear cloth on the floor or table, well stretched, and hold it with masking tape or painter.

Then place the batting on top and hold it well

placed top and pressed taut fabric top and return to hold it tight.

Both the fabric back and the batting must be larger than the top because when quilting, always tends to shrink, ... when you finish the quilting and have time to trim the excess.

The next step is to baste the three layers together, so it does not move during the padding: top, batting and backing always starting from the center of the quilt, like a ray of sunshine. The more "spokes" to get better, be more subject to the three layers. Use a needle rather long and plump. Always begins with a strong knot and put a strand long enough, and ends at the edge of the quilt along with several stitches securing.
can also use curved safety pins, special preparation for this task for quilting, but if you do not practice it, you better use the needle and thread.
Once everything is securely fastened, and we can remove the strips of tape.
If you are quilting by hand, you've never done, you can watch some videos on youtube, there are very good, I'll try to put some on the right side, although I have not ever hope to get.
If you are machine quilting, I advise you to use special gloves for this. They slip on the gloves with fingers and help you manage well the quilt. If you have or can not find them, can avail yourself gardening gloves like these, you see, at the back of the hands of a few dots are skid. The glove is made of fabric that the hand has to transpire.

HAPPY QUILTING!
